How do balances work?

Every expense records who owes whom. Your balance with a person is simply the running total of everything between you. When someone pays you back, a settlement is added on top — nothing is ever deleted or overwritten, so the history always adds up.

Does Riyal move money for me?

No. Riyal keeps track of who owes whom. The actual transfer happens in your own bank app — that is why we show each other’s IBAN, so you can pay friends back directly.

How do I settle up?

Send the amount to the other person through your bank using their IBAN, then record the payment in Riyal so both balances update. You can also ask someone to pay you with a request.

How do I add or change my bank details?

Go to Profile → Edit profile and add your IBAN and bank code. Friends you share a balance with will then see them so they can pay you back.

Someone paid me but the balance didn’t change.

Balances only update when the payment is recorded in the app. Record a settlement for the amount you received, and the balance will clear.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Delete account. This removes your personal data, subject to any records we must keep by law. It can’t be undone.
